Rupa Health: A One-Stop Shop for Labwork

Do you ever feel like you’re constantly working to improve your health but you’re just not sure if the steps you’re taking are effective? If you’re anything like me, your answer to that question is likely a resounding, “yes!”.

I’m always adding more nutrient-dense foods to my daily menu, experimenting with supplements to boost mental and physical function, exploring new modes of exercise to stimulate my body, and trying various stress-reduction techniques to quiet my mind. But at the end of the day, it’s hard to know if all of the effort I’m exerting is having a beneficial impact … enter Rupa Health

The Lowdown on Rupa Health

Rupa is a centralized platform where healthcare practitioners can order from over 30 labs in one place. Lab tests are vital for monitoring our health and identifying risk factors for preventable diseases. Getting labwork done at least once a year and sometimes even more often (depending on your current health status) is recommended.

Rupa acts as an extension to your personalized healthcare team by creating a place for your provider to easily order multiple tests from different lab companies to discover the root cause of your symptoms. Here’s how it works:

Once your practitioner places the order, you will receive an email from Rupa Health asking to confirm payment and shipping information. After you have paid and input your shipping address, the kit with clear and detailed instructions will be shipped to your home.

You will need to see a phlebotomist for tests that require bloodwork. If you’re in the LA Area, I recommend my phlebotomist Kim Jones (botg@gmail.com) because she will draw your blood in the comfort of your home. But if you’re outside of LA, you can find more information about phlebotomists and laboratories that Rupa Health works with here.

Once the samples have been collected and sent back to the lab with the provided return packaging, your samples will be processed. The results will be sent directly to your practitioner, who can break them down with you.

I love Rupa Health because of its simplicity—Rupa makes it easier for you to take control of your own health. And because of the value I see in Rupa Health, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve partnered with Rupa to bring you two test bundles that help make it possible for you to learn more about your health from the inside out.

Let me introduce you to the two bundles we’re offering:

Elissa Goodman Bundle with hormones (most common): $258.94

  • Cortisol
  • Calcium
  • DHEA-Sulfate
  • Estradiol (E2)
  • Ferritin
  • Hemoglobin A1c
  • Homocysteine
  • Thyroid Panel Comprehensive
  • Vitamin D, 25-OH- Total
  • Insulin, Fasting
  • Lipid Panel
  • Magnesium
  • Vitamin B12
  • Testosterone, Free & Total
  • C-Reactive Protein, High Sensitivity (CRP, HS)
  • Progesterone
  • CBC w/ Diff
  • Zinc
  • Heavy Metals Screening, Whole Blood (Arsenic, Lead, Mercury)
  • Comprehensive Metabolic Panel

This bundle includes what I believe are the essential tests to help you understand the root cause of your symptoms. For example, seeing your cortisol results are extremely valuable. Cortisol is the body’s stress hormone, but we still need cortisol since it’s crucial for helping us wake up in the morning, regulating blood sugars, and supporting our metabolism. However, chronically high cortisol levels can cause weight gain, acne, brain fog, and fatigue. The results from a cortisol test and the other labs provided can give insight into why you are experiencing any symptoms.

Elissa Goodman Bundle with hormones and Micronutrient Test: $658.59

  • Micronutrient Test (alpha-lipoic acid, asparagine, biotin, calcium, carnitine, choline, chromium, CoQ10, copper, cysteine, folate, fructose sensitivity, glucose-insulin metabolism, glutamine, glutathione, inositol, magnesium, manganese, oleic acid, pantothenic acid, selenium, serine, total antioxidant function, total immune function, vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B12, vitamin B2, vitamin B3, vitamin B6, vitamin C, vitamin D3, vitamin K2, zinc)
  • Cortisol
  • DHEA-Sulfate
  • Estradiol (E2)
  • Ferritin
  • Hemoglobin A1c
  • Homocysteine
  • Thyroid Panel Comprehensive
  • Vitamin D, 25-OH- Total
  • Insulin, Fasting
  • Lipid Panel
  • Vitamin B12
  • Testosterone, Free & Total
  • C-Reactive Protein, High Sensitivity (CRP, HS)
  • Progesterone
  • CBC w/ Diff
  • Heavy Metals Screening, Whole Blood (Arsenic, Lead, Mercury)
  • Comprehensive Metabolic Panel

This bundle is just like the first but with the addition of a micronutrient test, which I highly recommend. Assessing your micronutrients allows you to see how your body currently functions at the cellular level and reveals any potential deficiencies. For instance, take glutathione. Glutathione is an antioxidant naturally produced in your cells. When you’re deficient in glutathione, you may not realize that your body is experiencing oxidative stress, which can damage your cells and increase your risk of cancer. Identifying these risk factors is just one of the many benefits of micronutrient testing.
