Why is it that whenever I need a gift for someone I can’t think of one? I have spent the last week scouring the internet for ideas. I wish I could remember all those cool ideas I had the last 11 months of the year 🙂
As I write this however, I can officially say my gift buying is complete. Today I tackled the hardest person to buy for on my list, my mother. Hope you like it, mom!
Last week I shared my favorite healthy books, all of which I would highly recommend to gift this holiday season. But if books aren’t your thing or you are looking to buy a gift for someone who has doesn’t read…haha, I have a few more ideas.
I can’t help but feel as though I am at expert gift-buying status after all my time spent looking. Here’s what I would give to anyone who needs to add a little health or healing into their lives. Hint: we all do!
We can’t always race right to the acupunturist when pain strikes. Sometimes it’s that late night shoulder tension that you need to take care of in order to get some sleep. This pillow is great in a pinch and perfect for those who suffer from chronic pain or just may want to relax their muscles after a long workout.
For the gift you can use anywhere, Yogaglo is perfect for your yoga-loving friend that travels often. This website streams over 1,000 different yoga classes from different teachers that you can do from the comfort of your bedroom, living room, hotel room or mother-in-law’s basement. Plus, it covers all levels and every experience from intense to meditation.
I love buying gifts for people that are practical items they would not always buy for themselves. Sometimes, that feels like the greatest treat. I am a firm believer in filtering your water and not resorting to toxin-loaded tap water or toxin-loaded plastic water bottles. I love Aquasana water filters and they have a wide arrange of options to fit any price range.
Daily Concepts Exfoliating Gloves
I was gifted these amazing gloves one time and they are truly one of my favorite things. There is something so unique and perfect about these gloves. I have tried many others in the past but these are absolutely the best. Plus, they come with a little tag that fades when it’s time to replace the gloves so you never have to wonder. A perfect stocking stuffer!
This fits into the category of a splurge you wouldn’t always treat yourself to, but would love to have. If you do yoga fairly casually, you likely have a mat off Amazon or from Target that you bought because you liked the color. But a really great mat makes a major difference and your down-dogging loved one will love you for this gift. This mat is the perfect texure and thickness and comes with a lifetime guarantee.
Subscription boxes are very popular right now and I love the idea of subscribing someone you love to a weekly dose of health. What’s better than farm-fresh, organic produce showing up at your door? I love Farm Box LA which pulls the top produce from a bunch of local farms and delivers it right to your door. Pick your size, anywhere from small to enough for a big family and you can choose if you want just fruits, just vegetables, a mix, a Cross Fit or Paleo friendly box, etc. What’s not to love about that?
For you local folks, there is no better gift than the gift of sweat. Just 60 minutes at The Shape House replaces a whole day at the spa for me. I feel totally rejuvenated and detoxed. For a real treat, buy two sessions so your gift recipient can do both a sweat session and a lymphatic massage session. They will never stop thanking you!
When I came across this, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on one of these! It’s the ultimate relaxation accessory. I recommend either the small or medium sizes (not the mini) for the best bang for your buck. The small size will give you good coverage without being too centered in one location. For anyone with pain, muscle tension or just a lover of infrared heat like I am, this is the perfect gift.
Cleanse Your Body, Cleanse Your Life Program
I’ve heard this is the gift to give this season 🙂 This is a one-size fits all kind of gift. Anyone from your super health conscious neighbor to your super unhealthy uncle will appreciate this hands-on program they can do from their house, with tons of guided support, three recipes books and daily emails. Plus, you gift it to them now and they can begin whenever they want!
I have one of these in my office and I get tons of compliments on it. Besides looking beautiful, they also create a relaxing, calm atmosphere and clear the negative energy out of the room. There’s nobody that wouldn’t want to find a spot in their house or office for one of these gorgeous lamps.
If you are sick of showing up with a bottle of wine to every party you go to, opt for a coconut wax candle instead. I pick up a bunch in my favorite festive scent, Celebrate, to have on hand when an invite comes knocking. It’s a personal gift but perfect for anyone.
Some people feel silly putting an item like a juicer or a Vitamix on their Christmas list, but I’m all about gifting something as kitchen life-changing as these. It’s really special to give someone something they can use and love daily. I like to include a few of my favorite Vitamix or juice recipes to get them started. Another great, similar treat is a Nutribullet. I recommend this to anyone who travels as it packs neatly and allows you to have a healthy smoothie wherever you are!
Whatever you give this season, however you celebrate, let it be full of light, love and calm.
