As someone who’s worked with clients for decades and experienced my own health transformation firsthand, I’ve learned that the most powerful shifts don’t come from the trendy tools. They come from listening to your body, honoring your season of life, and building habits that support your long-term health.
This summer, we’re stepping into a new wave of wellness that’s rooted in personalization, nourishment, and reconnecting to the most essential rhythms of nature. These are my top 5 health and wellness predictions for Summer 2025:
1. A “Protein + Fiber First” Approach to Eating
This is the summer of blood sugar balance… We’re no longer skipping meals, grazing on crackers, or chasing energy with caffeine. Instead, we’re prioritizing meals rich in protein and fiber because they actually make a difference.
Protein supports lean muscle mass, regulates appetite, boosts metabolism, and plays a crucial role in hormone balance. And when you combine it with fiber-rich foods like lentils, chia, leafy greens, and cruciferous veggies? You support your gut, feed your microbiome, and reduce inflammation at the root.
This summer isn’t about being extreme – it’s about being strategic. We’re talking 90 grams of protein per day, and 30 grams of fiber – that’s all there is to it!
2. Questioning Trends
Let’s talk about cold plunges for a second. I love that people are getting curious about nervous system regulation and contrast therapy, but I also believe in asking: is this right for me?
Cold plunges may be incredibly beneficial for some, but women in their reproductive years (and even into perimenopause) may not always benefit in the same way. For some, frequent cold exposure can be too taxing on the adrenals or even disrupt uterine blood flow and hormone regulation.
Men may thrive on daily cold plunges. Women may need to be more intuitive, tuning into cycle phases, stress levels, and temperature sensitivity. This summer, we’re getting smarter about wellness. we’re not doing something just because it’s trending, we’re doing it because our body is asking for it.
3. Herbalism in your Daily Routine
You don’t need 25 supplements to feel your best. In fact, many people feel overwhelmed, bloated, or disconnected when their wellness routine is all capsules and no ritual!
That’s why this summer, I’m leaning into simple herbal supports like digestive bitters, tulsi, fennel, peppermint, and dandelion root tea. These herbs have been used for generations to ease digestion, calm the nervous system, and gently detoxify the body.
Bitters before meals to support digestion. Cooling teas in the afternoon to beat bloat. A grounding cup of tulsi tea instead of a melatonin habit. This is herbalism in real life, and your body knows exactly what to do with it.
4. Plant Medicine for Belief Reprogramming, Not Just Trauma
Yes, plant medicine has helped many people confront deep trauma (myself included!) but what I’m seeing now is something even more expansive: using these tools to reprogram limiting beliefs about what’s possible.
Here’s the truth I’ve witnessed again and again: So many people are subconsciously living from a place of fear, scarcity, and defeat when it comes to their health. Whether they’ve been told they’re “just getting older,” “it’s genetic,” “you’ll always have to live with this,” or “there’s no real cure,” those messages start to run in the background of the mind.
Plant medicine has a way of pulling those beliefs out into the light. Clients come back from journeys telling me things like, “I finally realized I’m not broken,” or “I saw myself completely healthy, and I believed it.” Some say, “I’ve been chasing healing out of fear, but now I want to heal from love,” while others share, “I understood that my body has been protecting me all along.”
That’s the power of belief reprogramming through plant medicine. And for many of my clients, it has been the missing piece.
5. Intentional Sun Exposure to Build Resilience and Boost Vitamin D
This summer, I’m encouraging my clients to gradually build sun resilience. Start with 5-10 minutes of morning sun, bare skin, no sunglasses. Then slowly increase time outside in early and late hours to support healthy vitamin D production without any burns or damaging overexposure. They’re getting their 10k steps in during the morning hours and evening hours to avoid the peak UV index in the middle of the day.
Sunlight is not the enemy, but rather a biological signal of vitality. So this summer, we’re using it wisely.
This summer is about tuning in to your body, getting clear on what you need, and building a foundation that feels sustainable. Whether that means eating more protein and fiber, rethinking the wellness routines you’ve been told to follow, or integrating herbs and sunlight into your daily life, the goal is the same: to feel more like yourself. Not the version that’s tired or overwhelmed, but the version that feels grounded, energized, and capable.
