Still, I completely understand being skeptical about something you may not know much about. So, let me lay out an abridged version of everything you need to know about this holistic-nutritionist-approved therapy.

What is NAD+?

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) is a coenzyme and electron carrier that aids in a multitude of cellular functions and metabolic mechanisms within the body. Without NAD+, our bodies wouldn’t be able to break down the glucose we eat to produce vital energy to get us through the day. Needless to say, NAD+ is a necessity in keeping us happy and healthy.

In addition to supporting energy conversion, NAD+ is an important activator for a family of proteins called sirtuins. In just the last few decades, sirtuins have been linked to a number of age-related factors, including lifespan, cancer, inflammation, and neurodegenerative diseases. NAD+ helps sirtuins perform their bodily functions, promoting healthy aging inside and out.

Why NAD+ IV Therapy?

As vital as NAD+ is, our NAD+ levels naturally decline as we age. But this is where NAD+ IV therapy comes in—it reverses this depletion. NAD+ IV therapy delivers the health-boosting molecule directly to your bloodstream, which is the most effective way for NAD+ to travel to necessary organs and tissues. This therapy is trending and increasingly sought after because of its convenience in producing quick yet significant results. My Personal Experience with NAD+ IV Therapy

So, when I first discovered NAD+ IV therapy, it piqued my interest so much that I decided to do some research and try it for myself.

I’ll be honest. The first time I did NAD+ IV therapy, it made me feel pretty sick. However, I stuck with the treatment. And by the end of it, I felt a simultaneous sense of newfound calmness and energy. Because of how my results positively impacted me, I’ve been doing it ever since!

I’ve learned that the trick to getting the most out of the therapy is to work your way up to a dosage that is ideal for you. Everyone’s body is different, so there is not one universally perfect amount to provide. Here is what I recommend for your first time trying NAD+ IV Therapy:

  • You should receive a nutrient IV treatment before an NAD+ IV treatment to prime your cells to accept the NAD+. Then, when you are ready for the NAD+ infusion, start with 200-250 mg and build up from there. Most people go straight for a dosage as high as 1000 mg, but that is significantly more than what is typically needed. From my professional experience, 500 mg is enough to provide visible benefits.
  • Following the NAD+ IV therapy, I recommend incorporating a push of glutathione. As NAD+ works in the body, free toxins can be released from your tissues and organs. Glutathione, a natural antioxidant, binds to these toxins and helps eliminate them from the body. This detoxification process enhances the good that comes from NAD+.

Is NAD+ IV Therapy Safe?

In full transparency, there is always some risk of infection or inflammation when receiving an IV treatment. However, with proper professional supervision, this risk is greatly reduced. And remember, NAD+ is an essential molecule for our bodies. So, as long as the NAD+ IV treatment is administered at an appropriate dose by a trained practitioner who can ensure that the solution has been prepared and distributed by a trusted source, there are no significant safety concerns. As always, do your research and consult a professional before making major transformations to your health.
